GirlThrive and "Invisible Girls" reach out

Since the book Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse was published in 2006 it has helped thousands of girls to heal from sexual abuse. You have written hundreds of emails and reached out from all over the world. Because of the amazing response -Seal Press has released the Second Edition of Invisible Girls September 2009. We have added 100 pages - a new chapter on prostitution as sex abuse, another chapter with your emails and stories, and a new introduction. This edition even has an index. I am so proud of all of us! Together we are changing the culture of sex abuse and teaching the world that unfortunately the reality is that girls and young women are abused every day. The other reality is that these same girls are healing every day! Check out our facebook fan page here! To read reviews of the book and to place an order through Amazon, click here »»

About GirlThrive

GirlThrive stands for GIRL TEENS HEALING RAPE & INCEST VICTORIOUSLY EMERGE.

We know that girls and young women heal from sexual abuse. I did not just want to write a book about healing and leave it at that. This website is a companion to the book, Invisible Girls. The website brings the book to life in connecting with others. The healing and communicating continues through the blog. The site offers more stories from more girls who have been reaching out to me for years. You will find authentic stories from real girls, helpful concrete information, web-links, and all kinds of helpful insights into sexual abuse and young women. We are reaching out to all teen girls and young women who have experienced sexual abuse, or who know someone who is a survivor, or who just want to know the truth about sexual abuse. We invite you to read other girls stories and my feedback, we invite you to enlighten us and to let us help you.

Girlthrive Inc. is the 501-C3 non-profit organization I set up in 2006. Girlthrive Inc. is the only organization to honor teen girls and young women who have survived incest and all sex abuse through scholarships, opportunity and education. Girlthrive Inc. empowers girls by providing tuition scholarships, laptop computers, funds kickboxing, art classes and more. For more info and ways to apply and also donate click here »».

....xoxo, Dr. Patti.
