Girlthrive Inc. is the 501-C3 non-profit organization I set up in 2006. Girlthrive Inc. is the only organization to honor teen girls and young women who have survived incest and all sex abuse through Thriverships. Our Thriverships through Girlthrive Inc. empower girls by providing funds for creative endeavors, including kickboxing, netbooks, art classes, help with tuition and/or living expenses and more. Thriverships usually range between 300$ and 500$ dollars.
Girlthrive Inc. is enabling girls to be free, independent and powerful! Many girls have donated their photos to the Girlthrive Inc. photo project because they are so proud of what they have overcome! Download our wonderful brochure to see some of the beautiful girls who have become visible. It is a PDF file so please be patient and allow a few moments to load:
Incest and all sex abuse knows no color, class, or nationality. Many incest survivors never make it to college and if they do, their father-abusers often insist that they live at home so that the abuse can continue. This leaves the girls three options: 1) take the money and put up with the abuse, 2) get a job as quickly as possible and move out, or 3) run away. Incest survivors comprise the largest percentage of runaways in the country. We want to help all young women who have endured abuse to branch out and spread their wings! Girlthrive is the only fund that specifically provides girls who have suffered through sex abuse with the hope and support they deserve!
Since we began the Girlthrive Thrivership Fund in 2004, we have helped girls in nursing school, postgraduate law school, undergraduate art school, as well as sending girls to Camp Program for sexually abused teen girls. The non-profit GirlThrive Inc. Thrivership Fund was established to help girls who are incest survivors by paying for some of their college expenses. We help girls break away from their molesters not only emotionally, but financially as well. The fund covers some costs of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education. Girls from all over the country are eligible for the fund. In 2008 we expanded our fund to provide Thriverships for sex abuse survivors so that they can follow their passion and partake in photography, dance, art, and music classes. In 2009 we expanded by helping girls in college to receive funding by advocating for them through their college programs and financial aide offices.
Girlthrive Inc. also provides educational and healing resources for girls and the professionals who work with them by donating our book, Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse, all over the country to the girls, young women and professionals who need it.
All donors will be kept posted on our progress. Your donations are 100% tax deductible. Girlthrive Inc. is a 501-C3 Non Profit Organzation. Our first Girlthrive Scholarship went to a young woman who survived incest at the hands of her step father for ten years. She has now graduated Harvard Law School and is practicing social justice law!! Here is what she had to say:
"Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse" gave our staff the resources and support to go to a deeper level in helping our young clients heal from sexual abuse. The book and the therapist guide are invaluable to us. We use the book in our agency with staff and with our clients. We have more hope than ever to reach youth that have endured sex abuse and to read the signs of possible abuse in the family, for effective early intervention."

"This fund is an acknowledgment of the unique obstacles we have to overcome to attend school and escape our pasts. It gives me hope for the future and, in the immediate present, it has helped me pay for the textbooks and school expenses. It's not even so much the amount that matters, but the love and support and acknowledgment that I felt going through law school. Thank you Dr. Patti and Thank You Girlthrive!" —21 year old incest survivor, a Thrivership recipient.
